Telepresence Robots
A compact, cheap telepresence robot, that works anywhere with cell service.
We created this project to explore the capabilities of the ultra-cheap ESP8266, a $2 wifi module, and the Pololu 3pi platform. An iPhone runs Facetime, but also acts as a wifi hotspot, allowing the ESP8266 to have internet connectivity over the phone's 4G connection. A user can connect to the robot and drive it from anywhere in the world over the internet.
